Happy Thanksgiving!

We are SO close to the end of the semester!

In figure drawing, we've been doing posed "real life" scenes. Clothing can be a challenge!

Receiving an important phone call...

A nefarious villain ties up a damsel in distress.

Hitchhikers!

Two gypsies...

And a fighting couple!

An old drawing I found from our car design unit in perspective... drawn from observation at the Sarasota Classic Car Museum. (The car wasn't really screaming, but it sure looked like it!)

My 2D final for Rhythm!

I'm so excited to go home and play in the snow in a week!

Final figures & 2D in progress

The semester is finally winding down! (Only 17 days until I go home!)

My final drawings for our Foreshortening unit! SO glad to be done with traditional poses for the semester. Our last unit is cafe drawing and then we're done!

A quick update on 2D... Our second to last project places emphasis on rhythm... its definitely a work in progress at this point! The two pictures above represent some of the MANY iterations of this project i've produced so far... I hope to finish up with this piece tomorrow.

Freaky Figure Friday

Happy Friday! Here's what you've missed in my figure drawing class for the past few weeks...

We focused on figure and environment a week ago.

Blurry picture, but I liked the foreshortening on the arm.

The leg proportions on this one are WAY off, but I liked the pose!

For homework we had to draw a classmate in an environment... so here's Hannah at her desk!

Our current unit is foreshortening, so we're drawing a lot of reclined figures... here was my first attempt.

And here's my drawing from today! My professor really liked this one.

Another blurry one, but I liked the shading.

Just for fun, here's an older 2D design project with emphasis on proximity!

I'm Alive!

It has been an incredibly busy week... I worked really hard to clear my schedule so I could go to DISNEY yesterday! Here are a few of my favorite pictures (out of the 1,000 that I ended up taking!)

Aladdin and Jasmine were SO CUTE!

It's always lovely to visit Ariel in her grotto!

The highlight of the day was riding the carousel with Anastasia and Drizella!

Snow White was excited to show me her dress!

Cinderella looked so beautiful!

And now, in actual academic news... we had to do a huge overlay project for Figure! Really time consuming, but I learned a lot and the finished piece looks cool.

Each image is comprised of 3 sheets of paper; the original pose, a page of bones (in blue), and a page of muscles (in red).

misc. hand and foot studies, also for Figure.

In 2D Design, our last project was to take photos focusing on analogous colors!

Tomorrow i'll be scanning in all of my recent figure gestures... for now, here's a sneak preview!
